-Overview-

Today's flight is onboard a Qantas A380 in First Class. This is a very exciting trip for me, as it's my 4th time flying on an A380, it's the 3rd airline I've flown on the A380 with and it's my first time in First class! I had originally booked the flight in Business class but because the A380 was operating the route and first class in not sold on the usual B747, Qantas sell their first class seats for the price of business! So being the savy frequent flyer I am, I grabbed a first class seat for the price of business.

-Check in-

I had already checked-in for my flight at Brisbane airport as I was travelling to Sydney for a connection flight to Hong Kong.

-Lounge-

Too be honest, I found the lounge a little bit disappointing. I had high expectations considering that Sydney airport is Qantas's main hub and the base for their A380 operations. The options available for breakfast where pancakes, sausages, egg, baked beans and a few choices of pastries. The lounge has a great view (shown above) and inside you'll find a set of showers, bathrooms, a stock exchange board, barista coffee and a juice bar.

-Flight-

On today's flight, I was seated in 4A. Qantas's First class seating arrangements are 1-1-1, so plenty of space and privacy! The seat is very comfortable and spacious, the largest seat I've ever sat in. Due to the large size of the seat, you're required to wear a lap sash, just for safety reasons. The seat comes with a touch screen device, that controls the movements of your seat, the window shades, the privacy screens, the in-seat massage functions and lights.

-In flight entertainment-

The touch-screen IFE has all the latest movies and TV shows that have just been released. It's a big 17" screen that also has the ability to access the outside camera, mounted on the top of the A380's tail. Don't get put off by the photo making the IFE screen look small, it's much bigger in person!

-Meals-

First off, I'm sorry for the poor quality of the menu, something I could work in is taking a better photo of the menu. I pre-ordered my meals online before the flight, which is available to do 7 days before your flight, it's available for all classes.

Entrée: I chose the Sweetcorn and basil soup with grilled focaccia. This has to of been one of the best entrée i've had in an aircraft and in my lifetime, it was amazing!

Main: For my main meal, I selected the crumbled blue eye with tarragon tartare sauce, roasted chat potatoes and crushed peas. The fish and potatoes where amazing, but the peas where something else. As my parents both run separate fruit and vegetable, I can without a doubt, tell if something is off, they where really dreadful.

Dessert: For desert, I went for a simple option, the Maggie Beer ice cream.

Beverages/Alcohol list: Being underage, it's illegal for myself to drink alcohol, not that I'd ever drink while being underage ;) .

-Qantas A380 Lounge-

The lounge is located at the front of the 2nd deck, which is accessible by taking the stairs at the front of the 1st deck. The lounge itself is fairly small, it can only accommodate for 4 passengers at a time. There is a wide selection of magazines located in the lounge and medium-sized television screen, which is controlled by the cabin crew who also come around with drinks.

-Lie flat bed-

Qantas's first class beds are 212cm long, which is great for a person as tall as myself. The bed comes with 2 pillows but if that's not enough, the cabin crew will gladly give you more. When the bed is flat, it's covered with a sheep wool mattress which is very comfortable and soft, a sheet, then a duvet.

-Amenity kit-

When flying in First or Business class with Qantas, you get given an amenity kit, which comes with all flight essentials. Inside the mystery bag which you receive are a pair of socks, an eye mask, earplugs, toothbrush & tooth paste and a skin hydrating set which includes a 5ml Hand cream, Face moisturiser and Lip balm by ASPAR.

-Summary-

I was totally blown away by the service in First class on a Qantas A380, it was everything you could ever of asked for on a long-haul flight. The bed was absolutely comfortable with the sheep wool mattress and was a great length for my height of 188cm. The food was amazing except for the setback on the peas, but I cannot complain as this flight was my very first time in First class and it's not something that would happen often in a lifetime. I was sad to leave the aircraft as it was an A380 and was a first class flight. Overall, I couldn't of been any happier!
